Erfelijke aandoeningen bij de Border Terriër

Border Terrier

In Border Terriers atopy, epilepsy and cataract are often seen. Also, patellar luxation, hip dysplasia and elbow dysplasia occur occasionally in this breed. The disorders may manifest themselves at a young age and the dog may suffer from them for the rest of its life.

The brachycephalic obstructive syndrome may also be seen in this breed, although it manifests itself significantly less severely than in the breeds that have an unusually short nose, such as the English or French Bulldog.
